Despite skepticism, Kanye West made good on his promise and released his new album. To roll out the album he invited friends, celebrities and journalists to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for his album listening party. After first making the announcement in April, the enimatic artist drops his 8th studio LP, YE. The second of five projects executive produced by West himself, clocks in at 29-minutes. Kanye’s first full-length album since 2016’s ‘The Life of Pablo.’ With features from Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih, Young Thug, Charlie Wilson, and G.O.O.D. Music’s newest signee Yes Julz protégée 070 Shake.
YE serves as the follow-up to Pusha T’s DAYTONA and comes ahead of June releases from Nas, Teyana Taylor and Kanye’s Kids See Ghost joint album with Kid Cudi. The album’s listening event was celebrated with a live stream hosted by Kanye and his wife Kim outdoors in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. With over 100 members gathering to hear the album live, Chris Rock addressed the crowd before playing the album. The notable guest in attendance were Dame Dash, Big Sean, Nas, Kid Cudi, Scooter Braun, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil’ Yachty, Pusha T, actor Jonah Hill plus over 100 members of the media, and industry tastemakers were flown out on Thursday (May 31).
