Today former boxing world champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather stopped by ESPN campus in Connecticut to discuss many subjects surrounding a new fight he is promoting this weekend at the Barclays center in Brooklyn.
During his many sit-downs he addressed if he has the itch to come out of retirement and if fighting Coner McGregor or Manny Pacquiao are the contenders he’d fight.
Things got more serious when when Cari Champion bought up his past domestic dispute with his child’s mother in 2010. He addressed the question:
“You know that was in my past,” he said. “And of course, with any situation, when someone talks about domestic violence with a fighter like myself, when they say Floyd was involved with domestic violence, restraining someone? Yes I did that. I’m guilty of restraining.”
Floyd believes that, if he did attack his child’s mother, there would’ve been photos of her injuries, because of his celeberity. “As far as stomp, kick and beat a woman, the world would see photos,” Mayweather said. “For so many years, they tried to defeat me in so many different ways as far as negative things but I couldn’t be defeated inside the ring so they tried to defeat me on the outside.” Mayweather added, “I’m still waiting to see photos,” and claiming that he “beat all odds,” which was maybe not the smartest thing to say but I guess that is him maintaining his innocence.
