I have a feeling this one will ruffle a few feathers, but today it’s been announced that Channing Tatum will be playing X-Men’s Gambit. On the reason for the decision, X Men film producer Lauren Shuler Donner says:

He’s a rogue. Channing, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. And he can handle the action. We all know that. And he’s got a really good heart.”

No word though on if Tatum will be appearing in a film solely based on the Marvel star or if he’ll be making his debut in 2016’s X-Men Apocalypse. We’ll have to wait and see, but do you think this is a good choice?

UPDATE: Hollywood Reporter has learned Tatum will be make his debut as Gambit in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, right before his own solo film spin off. This in a way, is good news considering comic fans have voiced frustration over the years about Gambit not getting a major role in the Marvel Films thus far. Whether Tatum is a good choice is up for debate.
