Yeezy season is finally upon us!
After performing with El DeBarge, The-Dream, Young Thug, Kelly Price and A$AP Bari for a performance of “High Lights,” and then a second powerful performance with Kirk Franklin, The-Dream, Kelly Price, Chance to perform “Ultra Light Beams,” Ye finally gives us what we’ve all been waiting for, his seventh studio solo album The Life of Pablo (which is named after biblical figure Paul the apostle).

UPDATE (2/13): The album has FINALLY been released… on TIDAL—for $20.

Earlier today Kanye West finally announced the official name of his 7th studio album, dubbing it ‘The Life of Pablo.’ The album will play at a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, and will be live streamed Thursday at 4 p.m. EST on music service Tidal. ‘The Life of Pablo,’ is the 4th title for the project (‘Waves,’ ‘Swish‘ and ‘So Help Me God‘)for the indecisive rapper who even took to twitter to gain help from his fans what to name the album. On Tuesday night he revealed “T.L.O.P,” as the title and whoever could figure out the album name would gain exclusive access to the show and a free pair of Yeezy boost sneakers.

On The Kendrick Lamar assisted “No More Parties In L.A.,” he references Pablo three times:

“I feel like Pablo When I’m working on my shoes, I feel like Pablo when I see me on the news, I feel like Pablo When I’m working on my house, tell em partys in here we don’t need to go out.”

Possibly a triple entrandre referencing Pablo Picasso, Pablo Escobar and Pablo Neruda, so judging from that verse that’s where West may have gotten the album title from. He feels like Pablo Picasso the painter, when he is designing his shoes, he feels like the infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar when he sees himself on the news, and he feels like the poet/diplomat Pablo Neruda working on his home. I’m pretty sure those three references are what inspired the album title, but who knows with Kanye, it could be Pablo the gardener for all we know. Also he could’ve just binged Narcos on Netflix like the rest of us and dubbed the album after the infamous cocaine dealer.

Also, another huge reported surprise for the huge fashion/music show is former NBA star Lamar Odom will be making his first public appearance since being hospitalized, according to US Weekly magazine. For those who can’t attend, the airing of the show will be available to both subscribers and non-subscribers of Tidal services on the website’s homepage. Previously, only fans who purchased tickets to the event and those who bought tickets at select theaters around the world could tune in to the live broadcast.
