ASAP Rocky’s highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Testing,’ arrives this Friday (5/21/18).
The AGWE founder recently detailed the making of ‘Testing’ In his most recent Complex cover story, breaking down why this was such an experimental album and he went on to reveal some of his collaborators.
“I’ve discovered sounds that I’ve never heard before, so I’m trying to manifest all of that into my new stuff,” Rocky said. To help him manifest his new sonic palette, Rocky got behind the boards and put his producer hat on. Also enlisting the likes of Tyler, The Creator, Hector Delgado, Kanye West, Dean Blunt, Dev Hynes, Skepta, and more to assist with production and creative input.
Regarding Tyler, who, along with Frank Ocean, he considers two of his “best collaborators,” Rocky further explained: “Working with those two guys has been quite the experience. On a creative level, everybody gets it. And not only that, those guys are elite. Those guys are geniuses.”
Rocky described Tyler’s latest project ‘Flower Boy’ as “crazy” and an entirely new chapter for him.
‘Testing’ has, so far, had a weird roll-out with Rocky dropping throw away singles on SoundCloud, followed by the release of the official lead single “A$AP Forever.” Late Sunday evening (May 20), following a “performance piece” with Sotheby’s in New York entitled Lab Rat, Rocky tweeted a picture of the N.W.A-esque album cover as well as confirmation that the album is completed.

With ASAP Rocky having some of the most creative people in the world at his deposal and a chip on his shoulder from critics saying he’s done, Im very intrigued to hear how this album will come out.
