It’s been 20 years since the movie that defined a generation KIDS and now in celebration he iconic and controversial film the full living cast will reunite for a screening at BAM this June. Director Larry Clark and actors Chloë Sevigny, Rosario Dawson, Leo Fitzpatrick, and Larry Clark will all be in attendance as part of this years BAMcinemaFest.
KIDS follows teenage skaters Telly (Fitzpatrick) and Casper (Justin Pierce) as they drift aimlessly through downtown Manhattan in the single-minded pursuit of sex and drugs. But all the while, the specter of AIDS hangs ominously in the background. This startlingly raw, vérité portrait of urban adolescence features the breakout roles of Sevigny and Dawson and was hailed by The New York Times as “a wake-up call to the world.”
The screening event will take place on June 25th at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn and will feature a Q&A with the cast. Tickets go on sale May 26th to members, and May 29th to the general public.
