Looks like we’ll already be reaping the benefits from Donald Glover’s exclusive deal with FXX. Just announced, the Atlanta creator is set to bring 10 episodes of Deadpool to the network, as an animated series.
According to Deadline, both Donald and Stephen Glover have been attached as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. The untitled show will debut in 2018 and marks Marvel’s second collaboration with FXX following their live-action drama series Legion.
It’s to be assumed that the Deadpool series will be as raunchy as FXX’s Archer series, which is heading to its 9th season.
“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta,” said Nick Grad, President of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions, “With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.”
