Legendary Hip-Hop group A Tribe Called Quest are set to be honored with a mural in their hometown of Queens, New York. A commemorative painting of Tip, Ali, Jarobi and the late Phife Dawg will decorate the walls of Nu-Clear Cleaners on Linden Boulevard, where the group shot the video for “Check the Rhime” back in ’91. Councilman Daneek Miller’s office says the paperwork was submitted last month and the mural is expected to be green-lit in the next couple of weeks, according to sources at TMZ.

Linden Boulevard (represent, represent) between 192 Street and 193 Street is also close to being renamed A Tribe Called Quest Boulevard after a petition received over 5,000 signatures following Phife’s passing earlier this year.
