The wait is over! As promisedNicki Minaj returns to music after her brief hiatus. After releasing collaborative verses with The Migos to Yo Gotti, Barbz strategically decided to announce her two new singles would release exactly a week after Cardi B dropped her debut album. Today Nicki dropped “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz.”
At the end of December 2017, Minaj’s social media went dark and she stopped making public appearances. Now it looks like she is back to reclaim her crown, even having today be coined #NickiDay to up the ante. The songs’ release was preceded by an interview the “Moment 4 Life” artist did with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “To be completely honest, I’ve probably been working on this album since December…Some songs were written a year and a half ago…that’s important to know,” she said via Fuse. This will be Minaj’s first full-length project since 2014’s The Pinkprint. Looks like YMCMB is getting everything back on track, maybe we’ll get the Carter V next week?
