Quentin Tarantino Wants to Turn ‘Django’ into A Four Part Mini TV Series

The big story out of Cannes this week is that Tarantino is teasing a four-part TV miniseries version of Django Unchained.

Now I don’t know how much stock we can put into this because Tarantino makes a lot of empty promises and always plays with his fan emotions. Remember that third Kill Bill film? Remember that version of Reservoir Dogs that shows the bank heist scene? Not to be a Debby Downer, but maybe this time will be different, here are a few quotes from Tarantino below.

“I have about 90 minutes worth of material with Django,” Tarantino said. “It hasn’t been seen. My idea, frankly, is to cut together a four-hour version of Django Unchained.

“But I wouldn’t show it like a four hour movie. I would cut it up into hour chapters. Like a four-part mini-series. And show it on cable television. Show it like an hour at a time, each chapter.”

“We’d use all the material I have and it wouldn’t be an endurance test. It would be a mini-series. And people love those,” Tarantino said.
