With the new year already under way, Samsung is set to release it’s latest successor to the Galaxy S4. Set to release April 2014 they packed this device will all new technologies and gadgets. With the exterior remaining close in styling to the S4, a few things were changed. Metal siding surrounds the S5 as well as a perforated backing which provides better gripping and handling. With rumors to be waterproof, it may have taken some design from the Galaxy S4 ACTIVE (last year’s release after the S4) that had a rugged dust and waterproof body.
Packed with a 2.5ghz quad-processor & 2GB RAM this thing will get the job done. No certainty on whether the processor will be a 64-bit variant, but it is certainly an upgrade from the predecessor. Now rocking a 5.1″ display, it is a little less sharp than it’s previous version. 445ppi vs 415ppi but not enough to take away from the gorgeous Super AMOLED. It is being shipped with Android 4.4.2 KitKat which will work well with the new internal technologies. Fingerprint scanning is also a new feature to the Galaxy S5. Already featured on the iPhone 5s, you can scan your finger to unlock the phone or purchase items from the Google Play store. All in all I think it is a great upgrade from the S4 and purchasing it is suggested.
No price has been set, but it was rumored that it would be lower in price than the S4. Only time will tell as we get closer to release date.
