It’s slowly becoming more of a reality that the Power Rangers are making their way back to theaters. According to Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate has enlisted X-Men: First Class screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, along with Roberto Orci (Star Trek Into Darkness, Transformers) on board as executive producer.
Power Rangers creator Haim Saban is producing the film along with Brian Casentini, head of development and production for Saban Brands. Saban himself launched the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993 as a live-action TV series. It’s been in production ever since, with the series renamed each year. Details are scarce on the angle the film will take, but 90’s kids have a lot riding on this one.
