After news broke that Beverly Hills Cop 4 was in the works, we all knew it wouldn’t be right if Axel Foley wouldn’t be returning to his hometown Detroit. According to The Associated Press, The state of Michigan approved $13.5 Million in film incentives based on $56 Million of filmmaker spending in state.
The film will employ 352 workers in the state, and will be shot in and around Detroit. Eddie Murphy will reprise his role in the franchise as Axel Foley, and will be directed by Bret Ratner. Jerry Bruckheimer (who produced the original Beverly Hills film in ’84,) is also back on board as producer for the project. The movie has been set for a March 2016 release.
