A weeks back we posted a  Kanye collaborator and producer Evian Christ’s quote on Kanye West wanting “something that sounds a bit like Otis Redding, a bit like Mobb Deep,” this report by Billboard should make sense. Billboard published a piece breaking down “everything we know” so far about Kanye’s next album project, and in it an unnamed source further details what to expect from the anticipated Yeezus follow up. Read the quote below:

“A source says that as of two-weeks ago, there’s 12 songs on the album. Out of six heard, it’s “mostly a mixture of soul samples and tamed ‘Yeezus’-esque darkness… nothing abrasive.”

A few names of collaborators have surfaced as well. Billboard also compiled and curated a list of “potential players” that may also be working on the secret album that as we know now is inspired by Italy, Otis Redding, and Mobb Deep.  The roster of potential contributors include James Fauntleroy, Malik Y, French Montana, Tyga, Young Thug, Rick Rubin, Q-Tip, James Blake, 808 Mafia, DJ Mustard, Young Chop, and more.
