The news of Justin Timberlake taking the stage for this years Super Bowl halftime show just got sweeter. The former boy-bander—who performed with ’NSync in the 2001 show (alongside Britney Spears and Aerosmith!) and, infamously, alongside Janet Jackson in 2004—is returning to the stage this year. To capitalize off all the action he will garner Timberlake has announced a new album, ‘Man of the Woods,’ which will be released two days before the game. (The lead single will be released on Friday.) Earlier today he dropped a minute-long visual teaser for the release featuring Timberlake who is telling us he is now going to be personal, one who gazes contemplatively in a barren field, wades his hand through water, and traipses past a campfire. There are several quick cuts to horses striding in the wilderness. Also involved: Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel—in a cowboy hat, naturally—and son, Silas. (Timberlake says in the video that the album was inspired by his son.)

While many on Twitter have joked that the aesthetic is reminiscent of Bon Iver (whom Timberlake once parodied on Saturday Night Live), it also evokes the performers from the past two Super Bowls. In the clip I looks as if Timberlake is returning to his “roots.” Many pop stars have done this before seemingly countryfing themselves i.e. Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Kesha. Also humanizing himself to the public like his friends Jay-Z and Beyonce have recently done with their latest releases.
