Madlib isn’t a man of many words, but at his recent lecture at Red Bull Academy, the elusive underground beat smith opened up quit a bit.

He talked about the music talked about CD of beats he submitted to Kanye West for his The Life Of Pablo sessions and how “No More Parties In L.A.” came from that. But everyone was curious to know what became of the rest of the tracks and he revealed since Ye didn’t do anything with them, his frequent collaborator Freddie Gibbs record something to every one of them:

“He didn’t like them beats,” Jackson said speaking of West. “Six CDs. Gibbs took all of them, rapped over everything. Kanye waited too long, Gibbs rapped over everything.”

And from that we will get MadGibbs follow up to their 2014 project Piñata, titled Bandana. Check out the hour long conversation above.
