Tonight the duo of Killer Mike and El-P that form Run the Jewels headed out to Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of Run The Jewels 2 the album hosted by their label Mass Appeal.

The event included a special screening of The Warriors, as well as a Q&A with Mike and El. To everyone’s surprise Mass Appeal label head Nas came out to congratulate Mike and Jamie on their recent success. Nas went on to drop a new track “The Season.” Produced by the late legend J Dilla, Nas flows over the Dilla production rhyming about being a hip hop king unable to enjoy the fruits of his labor, for various reasons. There’s a line making it clear that Jay Electronica or Jay Z DON’T write for him, while clarifying that one of the major influences on his material is his younger brother Jungle. Nas also proves he’s been keeping his ear to the streets, dropping a reference to OG Maco’s “Bitch U Guessed It.”

No word on when this will drop, but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, if you’ve been living under a massive boulder, stream the Run The Jewels new album below.
