As the Hip Hop world mourns the loss of Phife Dawg, plenty of legendary artists were at the Apollo Theater in NYC last night to pay their respects to the late A Tribe Called Quest member. ATCQ held “The Celebration of Phife” at St. Alban’s Memorial Park in Queens, N.Y. and it was there that a few lucky members in attendance received tickets to the event at the Apollo.

Guests included D’Angelo, KRS-One, Kanye West, Andre 3000, and plenty others. Kanye was on hand to show support, and shared how much of an influence Tribe has been to him. He also recalls playing their music growing up, and their importance to the culture.

Andre 3000 also spoke on Tribe’s influence, and shared that Outkast and ATCQ were actually planning for an upcoming album together before his untimely passing.

You can watch both Kanye and Andre’s segments below, including the entire stream from the event.
