This morning the first Star Wars Rogue One trailer made it’s debut on Good Morning America. It’s the first of Disney/Lucasfilm’s new stand-alone films, set outside of the normal “Episode” structure we’ve grown accustomed to.

This stand-alone will largely follow the Skywalker family. This time around, the crawl reads:

“It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have one their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire, during the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”

The film tells the story of those Rebel spies seen in the trailer. Directed by Gareth Edwards, and stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, and Diego Luna. It hits theaters December 16, 2016.
